As well as a brilliant selection of exhibiting artists, we’ve got a wonderful workshop schedule lined up for you this September, all run by Bristol-based creatives. All sessions are FREE to try out and are run on a drop-in basis.

Saturday Workshops
Paper Play with Colourful Minds – 11am – 1pm, Tobacco Factory Stretch Tent. Make Your Own shiny PLANET with colourful pens, foil and metallic collage materials.
Make your own Chemigrams – 11am – 1.30pm, Willway Yard. Join us in the darkroom for a morning of chemigrams; make a unique photograph using light, chemistry and photographic paper.
Family fun with Let’s Make Art – 12pm – 2pm, The Southville Centre. Transform yourself into a unique character using a colourful mix of materials. Fun, family workshop inspired by Frendun Shapur’s playful Four Faces masks.
Wild Clay Seed Bomb Making – 1pm – 3pm, Estate of the Arts. We will squeeze, roll and shape local clay to encase wild flower seeds so you are ready to be the next Bristol Guerrilla Gardener!
Vinyl T-Shirt Decorating – 2pm – 4pm, Bedminster Library. T-shirt decorating with coloured vinyl. Bring your own T-shirts to upcycle or buy one on the day.
Big Friendly Choir – 3pm – 4pm, St Aldhelm’s Church. Fun and welcoming community choir singing a range of music including folk, pop and musical theatre.
Nature and Art for Wellbeing – 3pm – 5pm, The Southville Centre. Create a stick person character using leaves and flowers for clothing, or imprint leaves and textures into a clay tile or bowl.
Saturday & Sunday Workshops
Have a go at Screen Printing – All weekend, 12pm – 4pm, Print Paradiso, 137 East Street. Come and pull your own print with Steven from Print Paradiso
BS3 Jammin’ Community Harvest – All weekend, 1pm – 5pm, St Paul’s Church. Enjoy some food and nature based arts and crafts activities as part of BS3 Jammin’ Festival.
Sunday Workshops
Throwing on the Wheel – 11am – 1pm, Estate of the Arts. Ever wondered what it was like to throw clay on the wheel? Seen the Throwdown and itching to have a go? Try your hand at throwing a pot with Jenny and Howie.
Landscape Painting – 11am – 1pm, Willway Yard. Bring along a photo of your favourite landscape and you’ll leave with a charcoal sketch and acrylic painting of it!
Macramé Keyring Making – 12pm – 2pm, Bedminster Library. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to master several knot variations and create your own decorative keyrings.
Vintage Collage Club – 1pm – 3pm, Bristol Beer Factory. Rediscover the simple, mindful pleasures of cutting and sticking. Heaps of vintage materials to make your creations with. Switch off and go with the creative flow
Weave your own Necklace – 1pm – 3pm, No Frills Knitting, 76 East Street. Choose from a large selection of wool colours to create your own unique piece of jewellery on a little wooden frame.
Precious Metals Recycling Demo – 2pm – 4pm, Silver & Steel. Trained silversmiths will demonstrate how to melt down scrap silver and gold and form back into the wire and sheet that jewellers use.
Create your own Picasso-inspired portrait – 2pm – 4pm, The Southville Centre. We’ll explore Cubism, then use pastel and collage to make our own colourful artwork.
Live Music from Hannah Wood – 3pm – 4pm, St Aldhelm’s Church. Hannah Wood is a Bristol vocalist and songwriter, blending folk, soul and pop into dreamy and sometimes haunting songs.
